The Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) is offering the Eswatini Girls in ICT Scholarship for the academic year 2023–2024 in order to promote and assist Southern African students in their pursuit of academic success.

For young women interested in a career in information, communications, and technology (ICT), the ESCCOM has launched the “Girls in ICT” Development Program. With this fellowship, we hope to encourage more young women and girls (aged 17 to 24) to pursue careers in STEM fields, notably ICT.

Benefits

The program will provide all the following:

  • Full funding for education
  • once-per-year transportation charges to and from Study Permit costs, as needed
    where necessary, medical assistance
  • Mandatory textbooks
  • Housing and living expenses are covered by a monthly personal living allowance (stipend).
  • The recipient of the scholarship will be required to take part in two (2) annual projects supported by ESCCOM, including the global “Girls in ICT” Commemoration and Cyber Security Awareness Campaigns.

Requirements Criteria for Scholarship:

Eligible Countries: Domestic Students can apply for this scholarship.
Acceptable Subjects or Courses: The scholarship will be given for an undergraduate degree in one of the following fields: science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. The applicants must fulfill each of the requirements below in order to be eligible:
nationality: Eswatini
aged seventeen (17) years or older, but not older than twenty-four (24)
The applicant ought to have given credit for subjects that are connected to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Acceptance letter for a bachelor’s degree in ICT from a recognized South African or local higher education institution
must be morally upright, diligent, and achieve high academic standards.
participation in extracurricular activities like athletics, volunteer work, etc.

  • How to Apply: Students can apply for this program by registering on the official site. After that, Qualifying young girls are requested to submit the following application documents to scholarship-at-esccom.org.sz by Email.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents:
  • Two-page motivation letter, including educational and professional goals, achievements, and Statement of results. Conditional or acceptance letter from an accredited higher learning institution.
  • Admission Requirements: Candidate should have credited Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) related Subjects and an acceptance letter for an ICT-related undergraduate degree from an accredited local or South African Higher Learning Institution.
  • Language Requirement: Students must be proficient in the local and English languages.
